Spring 2021 Virtual Choir – Starting February 2nd!

Thank you for your interest in Daytona Beach Choral Society’s virtual choir project! We will be offering discounted membership dues to first-time members that would like to participate in our virtual choir.

We will be rehearsing and recording a selection of movie tunes that will be broadcast as part of a DBCS display at CMX Theater at ONE Daytona.  The display/pre-recorded concert will happen mid-to-late March. (Song List Below)

YouTube Live Stream Rehearsals: In addition to rehearsal audio and music, we will be livestreaming a few rehearsals with our Music Director and Accompanist. You can practice with the stream in real-time or watch it at a later date on the YouTube channel.

Recording: Virtual participants will record their vocal part from the comfort and safety of their home and send me the files via email or file-sharing service, like Dropbox.

Dues: $30 to participate virtually.  Covers the cost of music and $15 donation toward our Music Director and Accompanist salaries.

Spring Season Song List:

Songs of MGM: Medley of movie classics like “Singin’ in the Rain” and “Over the Rainbow”

James Bond Theme: A really fun choral version of the familiar melody

Disney Showstoppers:  A Disney medley of The Little Mermaid’s “Under the Sea,” Toy Story’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and  “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast

“I Will Always Love You” – Made famous by Whitney Houston in “The Bodyguard”

And Possibly “Ticket to Ride” – A Beatles’ medley of “Ticket to Ride” (from the movie HELP!), “Drive My Car” (remade for Cars 3), and “Penny Lane” (Character name in Almost Famous)
